Using black iron pipe for a roll bar or cage is very dangerous.
It has a seam in it that can split and produce maiming, killing, jagged pieces when used for cages and roll bars and subjected to stresses in crashes or rollovers. It was banned in my area over 30-40 years ago at all of the local tracks just for that reason.
I'd rather do without a cage than take the chance with that stuff. Those tech people need to step up their game.
